We understand that the information you provide when creating a parenting plan is highly sensitive and personal. We take the responsibility of handling this information seriously.
This Privacy Policy is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Use and Legal Disclaimer and our Website Terms of Service. Capitalised terms used but not defined here have the meanings given in those documents.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide

1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Cookies: We use essential cookies to maintain your login session and authentication state. These are necessary for the website to function. We do not currently use analytics or marketing cookies. If that changes, we will update this Policy and obtain consent where required by law.
- Log Data: Our hosting provider (Vercel) may collect standard server log data including IP addresses, browser type, referring pages, and timestamps. This data is used for security monitoring and service reliability only.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information for the following purposes:
- Providing the Service: To create, store, and generate your parenting plan document.
- Account Management: To create and manage your user account and authenticate your identity.
- Payment Processing: To process your one-time payment and any optional add-on purchases through Stripe.

3. Data Storage and Security
3.1 Where Your Data Is Stored
Your data is stored using Supabase, a cloud-based database and authentication platform. Data is stored on servers located in the United States. If you are accessing the Service from outside the United States, please be aware that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer. We take steps to ensure your data receives an adequate level of protection wherever it is processed.
3.2 Security Measures
We implement the following security measures to protect your data:
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit
- Encrypted database storage for data at rest
- Secure password hashing (passwords are never stored in plain text)
- Row-level security policies ensuring users can only access their own data
- Secure payment processing through Stripe (PCI DSS compliant)
While we take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
4.1 Retention Periods
We retain different categories of data for different periods:
| Data Type | Retention Period | What Happens After |
|---|---|---|
| Parenting Plan Data & Generated Documents | 30 days (complimentary) or 2 years (extended storage), plus 30-day grace period | Permanently deleted within 24 hours after grace period expires |
| Account Information (name, email) | Until account deletion request, or 3 years after last login activity | Deleted upon request or after inactivity period |
| Payment Records (transaction reference, amount) | 7 years from transaction date | Deleted after legal retention period; retained separately from parenting plan data |
| Server Log Data | 90 days | Automatically purged by hosting provider |
4.2 Deletion Process
When your storage period expires, your account enters a grace period of thirty (30) days during which your data is retained but editing access is restricted. During this time you may download your completed documents or purchase extended storage to restore full access. After the grace period expires, your parenting plan data, form responses, and any generated documents are permanently and irreversibly deleted from our systems within 24 hours.
Note: Basic account records (your name, email address, and payment transaction reference) may be retained separately for legal and tax compliance purposes for up to seven (7) years, even after your parenting plan data is deleted. These records do not contain your parenting plan content.
4.3 What Deletion Means
When we say data is “permanently deleted,” we mean:
- Your parenting plan form data is removed from our database
- Your generated document is removed from our file storage
- This data cannot be recovered or restored by us after deletion
- Basic account and payment records are retained separately for legal and tax compliance as described in Section 4.1
5. Data Breach Notification
In the event of a security incident involving unauthorized access to, or disclosure of, your personal data, Parenting Plan Pro will notify you in accordance with applicable law. Where required by law, we will provide notice within seventy-two (72) hours of becoming aware of the incident. Notification will be sent to the email address associated with your account and, where required, to the relevant regulatory authority.
Given the sensitive nature of the data processed through this Service, including custody arrangements and information about minor children, we treat any potential breach as a high-priority incident requiring immediate investigation.
6. Third-Party Data Sharing
We share your information with third-party service providers only as necessary to operate the Service:
